Troy O’Neile

Troy O’Neile is an accomplished cowboy, even spending time competing in the United States.

A natural horseman, Troy rode bucking broncs, among other events, but he’s most noted for his roping ability, having won multiple national titles.

A well-renowned boot repairman in the North West of NSW, and an all-round horseman, with thoroughbred racing in his blood, it only made sense when Troy took up training in 2015.

His first winner arrived when Playmate scored at Coonamble in 2016, and with 24 boxes at Tamworth Jockey Club, while riding a lot of his own work, Troy soon developed a reputation for getting the best out of his team, enjoying success throughout the North West, Western, and Hunter.

A proven trainer of Country Cup horses, and topline bush gallopers, Troy has most notably enjoyed success with Beckford (2021 Armidale Cup and Little Dance qualifier), Try ‘N’ Run A Muck (2018 Walcha Cup, 2019 Inverell Cup, 2019 Glen Innes Cup),  Cassy’s Sister (2021 Jardell Cup, 2022 & 2023 Inverell Shorts), Lord Tony (2021 Gunnedah Lightning Sprint), Mook’s Sister (2022 Jardel Cup), Capitulate (4 wins), Onemorechoice (4 wins), and Nardini Song (3 wins).
