O’Neile prepares a two-pronged attack at Tamworth

Fresh off training his first winner of the 2025/26 season, Troy O’Neile will look to land another winning result at Tamworth on Tuesday.

Preparing Mr Chips (Jenny Duggan, gate 5) and Ropewalker (Grace Palmer, gate 2), the pair contest the Country Boosted 1400m Maiden Handicap.

Both are considered each-way chances, with Plamer hopeful of landing her first career winner on last-start placegetter, Ropewalker.

The 4YO Trapeze Artist gelding has placed three of his past four starts, including a handy third, where he was beaten just half a length in a 1500m Maiden Handicap at Muswellbrook on November 2.

Fit and ready to win, the Tamworth galloper will enjoy carrying only 53kg after Palmer’s claim and racing on his home track. He appears to be good value at $9.

Stablemate Mr Chips could be a knockout chance at $11, with good form around his recent efforts.

Two starts back, the 5YO Casino Prince gelding caught the eye, finishing third in a 1400m Maiden Handicap at Scone on September 26.

The winner (Deel Me A Queen) and runner-up (Chamber Of Secrets) are subsequent winners.

Last time out, the Tamworth galloper ran into a good race at Muswellbrook on October 20, running fifth in the 1500m Maiden Handicap when beaten by over five lengths.

The first three runners in that race (Verity, Gold Capital, and Villa Castina) went on to win.

While O’Neile’s focus will be on the 1400m Maiden Handicap, the stable also has Think Pi (Mikayla Weir) contesting the 1200m Maiden Plate at Tamworth.

O’Neile will have his tail up at home after landing a nice win at Quirindi earlier this month.

Racing Steel Claws, Siena Grima was in the saddle as 5YO Real Steel gelding powered to a good win in the 1200m Maiden Handicap.

Steel Claws is set to back up in the 1450m Class One Plate at Muswellbrook on Friday.
